ESSAY

Computers affect our lives more and more everyday. When we watch news on television, we see charts and diagrams on the screen. These are computer graphics. There are modern cars that have computers to control the amount of fuel they use or to check that they are safe to drive. Computers help people with handicaps to move around and computers can help them to speak. At home washing machines are programmed to wash clothes. In offices, computers make office work light and easy. computers also affect the mind of many people mostly to our youth, because of computer games. Once they play, it will surely become their hobby because of the enjoyment they get, and then they will be addicted so because of that they will never be more interested with their study, instead of reading books and do their assignment they just wasted time in playing computer games.

SHORT STORY

While I slept, I dreamed of a genie. He walked to my bedside and looked at me with round eyes like of an owl. He ask what things I want, the genie give me three wishes and then I do. My first wish is money worth 1million pesos, and then I follow my second wish which is house and lot and my last wish is a brand new car. ''Yes, Master,'' he replied, but first , close your eyes so I'll obey your wish.'' When I opened my eyes, I could not believe what I saw, words froze in front of my mouth and hung in the air; I shout and say, wow! it's a miracle, I suddenly touch the money, I saw the big house, and a key of a brand new car is on my pocket. But a dream suddenly cut because I heard my Mom shouted, and she say, ''wake up Kathy, your going to school now.

The cordillera consists of seven autonomous region, the ibaloy, isneg, tingguian, hudhud, oggood, sudsud, and ullalim. The second group next to ibaloy are the isneg, they lived in the norhwesterly end of northern luzon. Isneg were described as of slender and graceful structure, with manners that were kind, hospitable and generous, they are closed neighbors to the kalinga, tingguan and ifugao. they have cultural similarities and only the languages differ. This tribe is very fond of tobacco. Their main staple food is rice, apart from rice, other crops raised are corn, taro, sweet potato, sugar cane for making basi (sugar cane wine), bananas, yams, and other tubers.
The tingguan, are group of pagan people inhabiting the interior hills of Abra, their occupies the western portion of cordillera region in northern Luzon. The first inhabitants of Abra were the ancestors of the bontoc and ifugao. Most tingguans are farmers who tend rice in kaingins and rice terraces. They also weave baskets and blankets. They predominant languages are ilocano and tingguian. Abra's economy is agriculture-based. It's major crops are rice, corn, and root crops; and such commercial produce as coffee, tobacco, and coconut.
Hudhud refers to the group of people living in ifugao province located in the central cordillera mountains of northern luzon. The ifugaos and bontocs are the most advanced, their ancestors built the famous rice terraces over 2,000 years ago without the aid of metal tools. Agriculture is the main source of livelihood among the ifugao. They harvest rice and a variety of crops and vegetables. They also engaged in poultry raising, pottery, weaving, and hunting. The ifugao house is a three-level structure, they have various types of musical instruments and songs for differnt occassions.
The oggood, refers to the bontoc people, the bontocs skills in fighting discouraged the spanish missionary work and military penetration until the middle of the 19th century. The main agricultural product of the bontoc is rice, they also produced sweet potato and other crops like coffee, millet, beans, bananas, persimmon, tangerines, cabbages, carrots and cauliflowers. The bontoc believe in the anitos or spirits of their ancestors and in spirits dwelling in nature. Their god is lumawig, he is a culture hero and son of the god kabunian.

My feedback to life of Lam-ang

Lam-ang is very brave, he left his mother just to follow his father to the mountains of Igorot, although he knows it is dangerous. Lam-ang is a fighter when it comes to love, he took a white rooster and a dog with him as he went to fourth to court Ines, he went to kalanutian just to court the girl he desire. Although Lam-ang found a crowd of rivals for the hand of Ines Kannoyan, he remains confident and then after he impressed everyone with his magic, he impressed also Ines Kannoyan and the parents of Ines as for bride price. They said that they will bestow the hands of Ines to Lam-ang if he could equal their wealth consisting of lands and golds. Lam-ang went home and prepared for his wedding. He married Ines and there was great celebration. The Kannoyans had a tradition where Lam-ang supposed to do, is to catch rarang, a giant fish called berkakan. Unfortunately Lam-ang was swallowed by the giant fish. I am very bow to Lam-ang, because of his being strong, and for being patient. He will do anything just to achieve his goal and dream.

Who Am I?

Nobody is perfect, each of us has it's own criticism in and out appearance, know ourselves and talk to ourselves first before we criticize others, because we don't have the rights to judge other people. This message will introduced who I really am, but words are not enough to describe the real me, so after you read this get to know me closer. Mary Katherine Recio Caleon, a powerfull name given by my guardian, Eduardo and Rosalie Caleon. I celebrate my birthday every 25fth of may, I am 20yrs.old, residing at Noel's Village, Brgy. Dolores Taytay Rizal. Through my perseverance I stepped on college at Rizal Technological University, taking the course: Bachelor of Science in Office Administration major in Office Management, I am now third year college, of course by the help and financial support of my loving parents. There's a lot of things I want to conquer, towards my self, like for example of being shy, sometimes I feel alone so that others says I have my own world. I'm just a simple and quiet person, humble, understanding and reliable, I'm open with my parents regarding to any problem, because I know they can understand me. I'm a loving daughter but not showee most of the time, I'm also friendly, but not easily trust to anyone, I want to know a person more deeply because at this time it's very difficult to find true friends. For me, education is the most important among the rest so that my first priority is study. Like what I have said before I'm a quiet person, but when it comes to school I always give the best. All people are free to dream, to think what they want in the future, I am also a dreamer, but we have to do action to achieve our desire. I want to be a successful business woman someday and to be a good wife and good mother. Before I get married I'll make sure that everything will be prepared, a brand new house, appliances, and enough money to begin family business, so that our income become more productive. I am also ambitious person, because I believe that being ambitious is a stepping stone to success. I'm proud of my self for being who I am right now. I'm very thankful to all my family and to all my friends that absolutely accept the real me.
